Choose Life with Author of Carissa's Law Misty Boyd

Misty Boyd was born in August of 1983 with spina bifida, the same birth defect as her main character, Carissa, in her novel, “Carissa's Law.” Upon her arrival, her parents were told she would not live through the night and, if she did, she would be mentally and physically challenged and dependent on others her entire life. They were told she would never walk, talk or feed herself. She would only sit in her wheelchair and be dependent on them for her every need. Her parents were given the option to withhold feeding and let her die. This option was deemed unacceptable and Misty was medically treated at a different local hospital.

Fast forward 34 years...Misty is happy and healthy. There have been obstacles along the way but she walks, talks and is fully independent, with no significant mental challenges. She is married to a supportive husband, and is an incurable lover of Jesus and hedgehogs. Misty is a Christian, and her relationship with God is very important to her. Today Misty share' her latest novel:  “Carissa's Law.”

Through The Fire with author Pete Dechat

Through the Fire is Pete Dechat’s first book. A labor of love by a man who went from wanting to be a rock star to telling everyone he can about the Creator of the stars in the heavens.

Pete literally went Through the Fire. His ministry is sharing with people in the United States and other countries how God brought him through that fire.

The son of Andrew Frank Dechat and Monika Lore Dechat, Pete was born in 1971 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Osborne Park High School in Manassas, Virginia. Pete lives with his wife Judy and daughter Rebekah on Virginia land that includes goats, chickens, gardens and fruit trees.

Pete's book: "Through the Fire: The True Story of a 21st Century Job" shares his harrowing story. On July 10, 2007, a Nascar plane crashed into his neighbor’s home in a suburb of Orlando, Florida, killing a young mother and her son, and both pilot and passenger in the plane. The fuel tank broke loose from the plane, crashed into Pete’s home and exploded. His four-year-old daughter Gabi died. Pete got seriously burned trying to find and rescue her.  ThroughTheFire.net
